When selecting a
frame for your skate you must assess the boot onto which the frame is to be
fitted. If the boot is second hand the sides may have creasing. This weakens the
ankle support required for Inline Skating.
Custom Inlines do not
recommend the fitment of soft or second hand boots due to the inherent risks of
ankle injury.

For people not wishing to partake in competitive events or who
are purchasing for recreational uses, Custom Inlines recommend the good boot for basic support and price.
For competitive Free Skating
we recommend the EDEA
series or Risport RF series range of boots. These boots incorporate adequate support for the ankles
and a good base to anchor the frame.
For competitive Dance the preference
is personal though, as above is recommended. For lower level [secondary leagues]
a Risport
Laser is adequate.

All frames [regardless of discipline] require the frame to be at the
tip of the boot. This ensures the rocker is slightly rearwards of the ball of
the boot. The frames come in 4 standard sizes.
